For independent pharmacy owners

Add cash-pay compounding to your independent pharmacy, and build it so your staff can run it

If PBMs keep shrinking your margins and you've thought about compounding but don't know where to start, I'll walk you through how I built it in my own pharmacy. That means SOPs, staff training, equipment, pricing, and getting ready for inspections, so you're not guessing.

I'm Jennifer Bennett. I'm a pharmacist, and I own Curative Medicine, an independent compounding pharmacy in Gainesville, Florida. We went from about $550,000 in sales in 2024 to $1.2 million in 2025, mostly by building compounding the right way, and now I help other owners do the same.

These are my pharmacy's numbers at Curative Medicine. They show what happened in my store, and I can't promise yours will match.

Sound familiar?

You know you need cash-pay revenue, but compounding feels like a big leap

These are the things owners tell me after almost every talk I give.

PBMs keep cutting what you get paid

You're filling more scripts and keeping less on each one. DIR fees, reimbursement below cost, and clawbacks that show up months later. Retail keeps you busy, but it isn't paying the way it used to.

You don't know where to start

What equipment do you actually need? Which formulas should you make first? How do you price a compound you've never made? Most owners I talk to are guessing, or they've been stuck thinking about it for a year.

Inspections make you nervous

You don't have written SOPs yet, your techs haven't been trained, and USP 795 and 800 feel like a maze. The thought of a board inspector walking in is enough to make you put it off again.

Everything runs through you

If you do compound a little, you're probably the only one who knows how. When you're at the counter, at CE, or out sick, it stops. That's hard to grow and even harder to take a day off from.

Where you'll end up

Here's what you'll have when we're done

The goal is a compounding setup your staff can run on a normal Tuesday while you run the rest of the pharmacy.

  • Written SOPs for what you make, so anyone on your team can follow the same steps.
  • Techs who are trained and can handle the work when you're not standing over them.
  • An equipment list in the right order, so you buy what you need and skip what you don't.
  • A simple way to price compounds so you make money on each one.
  • Your first cash-pay offers and a plan to get a few local prescribers sending you scripts.
  • Your records and paperwork in order before an inspector ever asks for them.

How I help

You pick how much help you want

Some owners want a clear plan and they'll do the work. Others want me in it with them. Here are the ways I work with pharmacies.

A roadmap you follow

I look at your store and give you a written plan: what to buy, what to make first, who to train, and in what order. You and your team do the work.

SOPs plus one-on-one help

You get the SOPs and systems I use at Curative, and I work with you directly while you put them in place. When something doesn't fit your store, we fix it together.

Done with you, start to finish

I take on more of the setup alongside you, from SOPs to training to your first offers. It's still your pharmacy and your license, but you're not doing it alone.

Peptides, if you want them

If patients are asking for peptides and you don't want to build a sterile room, I can connect you with American-made 503B partners. You stay a 503A. It's optional, and we get your systems right first.

My story

I built this in my own pharmacy first

Curative Medicine is a 503A compounding pharmacy in Gainesville. We have about twelve people on staff and we run on PioneerRx.

When I speak at pharmacy events, owners come up afterward with the same questions. What equipment do I buy? Where do I get SOPs? How do I train my techs? How do I price this? The chemistry is rarely what holds people back. The hard part is building a setup your staff can run without you. That's what I help with. And if compounding isn't right for your store, I'll tell you that on our call. I'd rather be honest with you than sign you up for something that won't work.

I own Curative Medicine, a 503A compounding pharmacy in Gainesville, Florida.

Our sales went from about $550,000 in 2024 to $1.2 million in 2025, and we're projecting about $1.8 million in 2026. Most of that growth came from building compounding into the pharmacy with real systems behind it.

Is this for you?

Who I can help, and who I probably can't

I'm most useful to owners in a specific spot. Here's an easy way to tell.

This is for you if

  • You own an independent pharmacy with one to three locations.
  • You don't compound yet, or you only do a little here and there.
  • PBM cuts are squeezing your retail margins and you want cash-pay revenue.
  • You want your staff running the compounding so it doesn't all depend on you.
  • You're ready to do the work once you have a clear plan.

It's probably not for you if

  • You already run a high-volume compounding operation with solid systems.
  • You're a 503B outsourcing facility.
  • You only want marketing help and nothing on the operations side.
  • You're looking for a chemistry course or someone to promise you GLP-1 volume.

How it works

What happens after you click

It starts with a short form. There's nothing to buy on this page.

  1. 1

    Fill out the form

It takes about a minute. I just need your contact info, your pharmacy, and roughly how many compounds you do a month.

  2. 2

    I reach out

I'll call or email you myself to learn a little about your store and see if I can help.

  3. 3

    Discovery call

If it looks like a fit, we get on a call and talk through where you are and what kind of help makes sense.

  4. 4

    Build it out

We work on SOPs, training, equipment, pricing, and your first offers in the order that makes sense for your store.

Questions

What owners usually ask me

How much does it cost?

It depends on how much help you want, so I don't post a price on the site. Once I know what your store needs, we'll go over the options on the discovery call. The first step is the short form below.

What if I've never compounded anything?

That's who I work with most. We start with what you actually need and build from there, so you're not buying equipment or making formulas you'll never use.

Will this help me get ready for USP 795/800 and board inspections?

I'll help you put written SOPs, training records, and documentation in place so you're organized when an inspector shows up. I'm not a lawyer or a compliance consultant, and your pharmacy is still responsible for its own compliance, but you won't be starting from a blank page.

Do you teach peptide or GLP-1 compounding?

No. There's a lot of confusion about peptides right now, and I'll walk you through what's allowed and what's risky so you don't get burned. If you want to offer peptides, a 503B partner is usually the safer route. I don't promise GLP-1 volume. Read my one-pager on peptide regulations.

Can you guarantee results?

No. Your results depend on your market, your staff, and how much you put into it. Curative's numbers are real, but they're my store's numbers, not a forecast for yours.

Want to see if this fits your pharmacy?

Fill this out and I'll reach out directly to see if I can help. If it looks like a fit, we'll set up a discovery call to talk through your store. It takes about a minute, and there's nothing to buy here.

I read every one of these myself. If I can help, the next step is a discovery call.
